I have non-delay wipers do I need a any else besides a new wiper motor and the colum switch.

thanks

Yes, you need the proper delay wiper/washer motor module that is the control circuit board that bolts onto the windshiel wiper motor with the black plastic cover on it.

About $50 last time I checked at GM Parts Direct.

Wiring is same 4 pin connector on the motor.

PS: You don't need a new motor assembly just the cover, I think the motors and washers are the same for the two. Just the front control circuit board is different.

Salvage, you dont happen to have a part number for the module do you?

I dont.......but the fact something on my car doesnt work.....
Hey and since GM still sells it what the heck..

I got a wiper motor from the boneyard that had delay wipers on it and I took the wiper switch out of the colume.

Wiper Cover Kit 22039684

This should be the cover kit number, I'd try to double check it however.

Email or PM Eric Fisher, Turbofish is his name I believe on both boards for confirmation or check at your local dealer if the search function can't confirm it here ( I didn't try that).

Once you get the proper delay switch in there and the new cover it should work just fine.

I wouldn't try the new delay switch without the new cover however, it might fry the delay resistance feature in it with the old non-delay cover, I didn't check the schematics that closely but the wires go to different spots on each cover, I'm sure GM designed them to be interchangeable most likely in case of a mistake but just to be safe put both parts on at the same time.

Yep that's the correct cover. Here's a list of other parts you'll need.
22039684 CD4 Motor Cover
7843683 Column wiper switch with tilt wheel
7842716 Column wiper switch W/O tilt
22511262 Signal lever with cruise control
22510144 Signal lever W/O cruise

What about this conversion on the '78-81 vehicles with the wipers on the dash? I figure the motor and board are the same, how about the switch and is it cross compatable with something else a bit more common in the junkyard?

Thanks,

I think the wire harness were different on those early cars. If you dont see any extra connector out on the motor than you'll need to rig it yourself. Those parts are discontinued so you'd have to source them out of the boneyard.
