Remove the bypass hose. Plugging the pump and intake. Would that increase cooling, lowering engine temps by forcing all the water through the radiator?

The Bypass hose doesn't bypass the radiator all coolant still goes through it. It's there to bypass the thermostat to keep it from overheating if the thermostat sticks.

Im not positive but just by looking at the layout, the water flow from the pump to intake appears to be the same that flows through the cylinder heads and cools them down..... So im going to guess ....NO.

The throttle body lines you can definitely delete. But i dont think you would be helping to delete the others

Ive deleted it on several occasions, and never had any problems. And yes if the thermostat sticks your in for a hurting! but 2 1/8" holes drilled in the thermostat will protect you. but as far as I can tell, the main purpose of this bypass was to aid in circulating water to the heater core, so even when the engine is cold, any slight water heat gets passed threw the core to warm passengers.

I've bypassed the hose before and got a cooler running engine. What it's for is to aid in engine warm up. If you take the pump off you can tap the nipple from the inside for a pipe plug and then put the hose back on if you want the stock look. I made a now outlet for my car and eliminated the pipe that comes off it so it's not an issue for me. Like the good dr said, drill a couple of holes in the thermostat (I prefer 1/16" holes) to allow for bleeding air out and if you've still got a heater make sure to have the heat turned on so you get all the air out of the system.:)

Just for clarification is this the S hose we are talking about.....
....also thanks for clearing this up in my mind....good information.

The "S" hose is the bypass that the V6 Buicks use, so yes, it's the same thing.:)
