im having a lot of detonation around 10psi of boost or more. I have my fuel pressure set at 40psi with the vac. hose off. im pretty sure my coilpack is good. any suggestions?

update: im runnin 93 octane and FP is increasing with boost, any ideas???

Just had the same problem, rattled my brain for weeks and guess what at that low boost could be ECM chip era or MAF sensor. I chased this problem for weeks and it turned out to be a bad maf sensor. Funny thing is I have about 5 maf sensors and the ones that worked on this particular vehicle would run like crap in my TType w/ the aftermarket chip. So it must have something to do with chip calibration cause the car with the KR problem had a stock chip in it but it was very finicky about MAF calibration.

do you run a scan tool? these are helpful

kinda hard to pinpoint a problem with no data !

whut kind do you have and what are they gapped at?

i have a snap-on scanner, ive check the basics, i have delco r43ts plugs gapped at .040, they have been in the car for a few months, i just rebuilt the motor bc i broke the crank, when i put it back together, it didt run right, since my first post i have pulled the timing cover and reclocked the crank gear from the advanced setting to the normal setting bc i believe that where it as before the crank broke but when i first rebuilt it i put it on advanced, now im knocking at 5 psi and its a pig(goes no where as if boost isnt there), rough idle as well, seems like ive caused more probelms
