Did 85 GN's come with a 3rd brakelight?

I was looking into the buickgn.com's third brakelight overlays and it occured to me, before my car went to the shop, I never remeber seeing a 3rd brakelight. Did they come with them? If not, how hard is it to put one in?

They started in 1986.

The provisions are there for the light. Under the rear deck, the holes are already drilled. I can't remember if the wiring is there or not.

If you want to add one (because they did not come with a third brake light) you will need to add the wiring harness as well. I know this due to the fact I added one to my 85 grand national. Hope that helps

The 3rd brake started in 86. For all cars.

3rd brake light

The third brake light did not start until 86. But I installed one on my 84 no big deal. You can now run a logo in your rear light. Mine says UD Lose. I have a spare 3rd brake light for $15 + S/H if you need it let me know.

Yeah thats why I wanted a brake light, for the inserts they make now. How difficult is it for someone who has no clue what they are doing to install one??

that's why I wanted a third brake light for the lense cover that says "got boost" also it throws people they thinking they are looking at a 86 (chrome on the grill) then you open the hood and watch their faces really show a lot of confusion. Especially if we have the 87 out and open that hood, the questions fly then.
