I put in my thumbwheel ultra chip today and was going to check the timing on different positions with Directscan. When I went from position #1 to #2 my car died. Started back up and went from position #2 to #3 and it died again. After that it wouldn't start at all! I smelled something electrical. Took out the ecm and I think it's toast. Put in another ecm and it started right up, with a different chip of course. Are thumbwheel chips not compatable with Directscan? What happened? Thanks, R.B.

good question.. as i have ran a postons ultra chip with my direct scan a a while back and didnt have any issues, but i never moved the thumbwheel while i was in direct scan
