I wish GM would sell a Diesel Suburban special order. I need a new vehicle that can tow my new 35 foot center console , haul 6 adults ( with luggage) all day, any day.

There are multiple choices out there unless you are dead set strictly on a GM product. How much research have you done regarding tow capacity/load? You want to consider the load you are hauling, your 35ft CC and if a simple tow hitch is ample enough or would a goose neck be safer as well as more befitting. If you are willing to spend $70+K on a tow vehicle (a damn truck) the difference, if any, should not make you frown.

JMO.

Sounds like you could use my truck if you weren't so dead set on a GM.
2001 Excursion, unadulterated 11,500# tow capacity, 7.3 Powerstroke.

Not dead set on GM, my immediate first option was getting a 2500 HD Suburban with the 8.1 L in it and then I started looking at the diesel Excursions. They are reasonably priced also. I guess the direction that my statement was heading to was to have any company build a new LARGE SUV on demand but not cost $100K. I dont think that it can because Platinum Escalades are in the 90's. TurboDave, you can PM me a price if you are interested in selling.

There is a company that does duramax swaps on H1 Hummers and Suburbans, http://duramaxsuburbans.com/. Think the last year you could get one from the factory was 1999 with the 6.5. I tow with a family member's 1988 6.2 diesel. Cleanest one I've ever seen. Pulls the Buick on an aluminum trailer ok. Will be putting the 6.5 turbo setup on it soon so that should help. Been trying to buy it from him but no dice yet.

I thought about selling it, but the better half just informed me she's not ready to sell until late summer or fall.

Those are fine for hauling cars and such. They arent going to pull a fully loaded 35 footer, at least not for long. I would go 450-550 something in that range unless you only pulling once, twice a year. I have 35 ft work trailer loaded down with tools and stuff. 3500 diesol dually, no power, several trannys which were under warranty but that meen shit for down time and inconvenience. Trailer just sits now, need 80,000 to 100,000 i figure.

Jordan, Can I post that on TahoeYukonforum.com "spotters" thread? That thing is incredible!!

I'd get a 2012 Suburban 6.0L 2500 4x4. Sell the 6.0 LS, then do duramax diesel swap!
