I have an 83 and a 87 T. They both have 200r4's in them. I think the one in my 87 is starting to go. The one in my 83 is in real good shape. I was wondering if there were differences between the years and if my 83 trans will hold up to in an 87. Thanks in advance.

Clutch count will be the same. The 83, if still original, will not have the hardened sun shell, probably small 569 servo, non TR valve body, smaller TV bushing in pump (.421" or smaller), small Int/Rev bushing (.252"?), 13 & 27 tooth speedo setup, non performance governor.

If your 87 is a BRF, it should have the hardened sun shell, 694 servo, BRF valve body with matching governor, .471" TV bushing in pump, .296" Int/Rev bushing.

If you use the 83 trans, it won't last very long.
