Two lane...Pentax? How long have they been making digital cameras? It didn't look bad, but since I don't know that much about all this stuff I was trying to play it safe and stick with Canon, Fuji, Nikon, Olympus, and Sony basically... I will have to look into that.

Thanks!

Pentax is a world-class giant & innovator of super-high quality photographic equipment...and has been for over 50 years.

Notice the 5-star rating from PC magazine for the Optio 550? :)

The C-5050 "retails" for $799, but I've seen it a couple of places for $599. I paid $625.

The 320x240 video is decent, but grainy. The frame rate is great. I haven't tried the smaller size video. I haven't had it to the track yet. The only downside is that because of the noise from the optical zoom, you can't zoom while in video mode.

I paid my first visit to the Fuji kiosk at Wal*Mart today. It's amazing. In less than a minute I dumped the CompactFlash card into the machine. Came back an hour later and had REAL 4"x6" pictures. The quality is superior to my Olympus 35mm film camera - no exaggeration. These pics would have to be blown up REAL big before they get grainy. I'm using the "SHQ" setting which is a few steps below optimal, too.

Dont you need a job 1st??? :) Nah, seriously I have a S110 Canon and love it for it's size and picture quality. I just used the movie feature at the track..and it's O_K..not great. You cannot zoom when doing vid with it. There are some small Sony DV cams out there that are as big as the old cam corders that sounds like it may be a good fit. If not I can sell you a 110 cheap :) Time for me to upgrade any how.
