Digital Fuel Gauge Problem

Fuel gauge started going crazy today......

it will go from showing the amount of fuel ie. 16 gal. then blink two dashes
-- then flash 16 then -- again? I also noticed the speedo jumped from 40 to 32 back to 40 twice in a row now its back to normal........any ideas? just going bad?
 
We still repair them. However, your problem is not the dash, it's the sender. You are experiencing the result of a worn out level sender. The only solution is to replace the sender/fuel pump hanger. Be forewarned though, they're mighty expensive.

At some point, you'll learn to live with the odd fuel display...

that is what I was thinking.....it working perfect all the way home from the beach.....do you know who sells this part....it must be fixed...I'm a bit of a freak about things not working:frown:

A worn fuel level sender would screw up the speedometer reading too???:confused:
 
Speedometer reading...geez I missed that part.

It's probably a speedometer cable that needs grease. If the cable is sticky, you'll get the MPH jump. Now, if it goes off or the digits get scrambled, that's a different story.
