Digital RPM gauge stuck on max

86 ttype.
The gauge that looks like an 80's graphic equalizer output is stuck at max rpm.
It does drop to about 3-4000 if the engine stumbles and real rpm drops below normal idle.

Any idea whats wrong with this thing?

Do you guys have the ability to change the bulb colors in the digital dash so that the dash would illuminate in other colors such as red or blue?? I think my digital dash looks green.

The digital dash uses a green fluorescent display. I would guess the only way you'd change the colors would be with a color filter over the display (the original filter is smoke-gray).

Try a red or blue filter in front of the display. You would lose intensity but it might work.

Great reading my tach works but boost gauge don't never paid much attention do to have a boost gauge.But would this be same problem that the chip is bad..if so what cost to recal etc....
