I was using DS sucessfully on my old laptop (Winbook running ME) that is on its way out. I bought a Dell inspiron 8600 running XP. I know XP has problems with DS and thats why Im using a bootable floppy directly to DS. I get it to run but the readings are all screwy. 60ms inj pulse width at idle, block cells reading incorrectly etc along with others. I checked the boot floppy (the one someone posted and made form the BB) on my old PC and it works correctly. Is it a com or lpt port adjustment? I remember using a friends Dell a few years back with the same problems. Any suggestions solutions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Are the readings jumping all over the place even sitting at idle? I put DS on a toshiba and it went nuts however mine is quite old, I was able to get a hardware module from Kent which straightened it out. I believe all new DS's have this built in so ti may not help you. You can check Chu's site for a description of the problem I had.

I found the problem. Thanks goes out to Jay Carter and Ken. I had to go into the bios and change the LPT port setting. It was on ECP. I changed it to normal and DS worked correctly. I believe you can also try bi-directional as my old laptop that I was runnig DS on was set to this after I looked at it.
