Direct Scan Screwy Data

I am new to Direct Scan but have used about 5-6 times no problem. Today I went to use it and the text display shows all the flags turning on an off rapidly in random order. All the sensor readings were rolling up and down randomly as well. The funny thing is, Everything would look normal for about 1 second or so when I first started it, then it would start going nuts.

The car runs fine by the way and Scanmaster shows normal data.

I disconnected the ribbon cable and DS does the exact same thing, without the car. If I disconnect the box of course it says hardware is not present. What is this?

the ribbon cable connection to the ECM may be needing a little more cleanup, OR it may be getting pushed on too far.

Well I figured it out. I had never needed to boot in DOS mode. I would just run DS in windows. Something has happened to my laptop and that just won't work any more. I tried DOS mode and everything was fine. I hate Windows!
