direct vent gas logs

hi, thanks for the offer, just wanted to know if they throw enough heat to heat one room, i dont want the soot and fumes for the other types of gas logs. thanks ed z

we went ventless in our fireplace and it works great, have a thermostat across the room just set it and forget it.the soot and fumes isn't near as bad as when burning wood. the vented logs are quit a bit more expensive to run, the air from the outside helps give the flames a more natural look, a fireplace shop told us that it would cost 3 to 5 dollars a day to opperate,,where as the ventless is 99% efficient and our furnance is 92% with the fireplace on the furnance hardly runs.

stagemonster, I might be interested in another ventless.. thinking of putting one in the basement..

i have upwards of 30 sets what size do you need? I have 18, 24, and maybe some 30 inch set but i would have to look. what kind of buick parts do you have we may be able to work out a trade

I have a Jotul gas insert in my basement fireplace (vents to the outside and draws in outside air) I love it, my wife can just flick a switch when my kid plays downstairs and have instant heat.

You can vary the BTUs and the fan speed - on high it will blast you out of the room with heat in a few minutes.

Not sure about gas usage - we only use it when we go downstairs (daughter's playroom)
