I recently began using DS because of needs TurboLink
didn't provide. The first thing I discovered was that it didn't
connect under XP. My Centrino Laptop doesn't have a floppy,
and, I didn't want to go through having to partition, and
install 98 on it, so, figured out how to make a USB thumbdrive
bootable with DOS 6.22. This worked great for DS, but, could
only run DOS programs. Not wishing to feel limited, I set about
finding a way to make DS run in XP. Contacted a friend at
MicroShaft, and he hooked me up with a recently Acquired
program from Connectix called Virtual PC. Now, DS works
perfectly ( so far ) under XP, and I can even run it side by side
with TurboLink. The program is a bit pricy at a bit over $100,
but, worth it not to be limited. As far as the Thumb Drive goes,
I picked up a 64 Meg unit for under $20. If anyone is interested
in how to get the ThumbDrive set up to boot to DOS, Let me
know.
