Do I cut down the sway bar link???

Need a bit of help here.
I'm in the middle of doing a 12" brake job including the B body spindles and Moog 5660 springs. While I was reassembing the first side, I figured out that the steel spacer in the sway bar link was way too long.
I've cruised around the board, and haven't seen anyone mentioning this condition.
I'm pretty sure the solution is to cut the spacer tube, but I'm not sure how to figure out how much to cut it. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I use the lunk kits from a late model Firebird. They're not only shorter, but the bushings are hard plastic.
