Hey guys, i wanted to know if the stock 87 GN transmission barks the tires going into 2nd, when you give it some gas and get the turbo spooling. it shifts really firm into 2nd. i have the TV cable adjusted for the firmer shifts. however the 2-3 shift is no where near as close to the 1-2 shift. its smooth, and doesnt really slip like crazy, but you cant feel it, other than hearing it. i want the 2-3 to bark the tires, shift firm like 1-2. the question is, DO i have a shift kit in it arleady, making it shift hard into 1-2? if i dont, then, what can i do to firm up the 2-3, like buy a new servo, or accumulator, or something like that ive heard mentioned. something i can put in that will help? also, if i do have a shift kit, can i take it out and put a different one in, or can i put something like a servo on it without hurting the transmission>? thats what i DONT want to do because i have NO money, at all, period.

thanks

What you're describing sounds normal for a stock tranny w/o a shift kit.. Sorry I can't help ya on the remainder of your questions but you may want to post this in the tranny section because you will get better responses there and you may find answers in the archives.. Tranny discussions are big with these cars;)

thanks for you reply kevins, all ive found in the archives is stuff about buying some shift kit this some shift kit that. that seems to be the only way to get 2-3 to shift good. i guess tahts what ill end up doing. thanks again for your reply, guess i dont have to worry about removing some shift kit to put in another.
