i use a manual boost controller and i will set it at 10 psi and when i turn even a 1/4 turn it boosts to almost 20. (not sure how high it goes b/c i always let off after 15 psi.) why does it do that? should i hook up my old WG solenoid and "Y" restrictor. that only gave me 10 psi which is why i switched to a manual controller. i hate my weak 15 sec. car:mad: !!! im thinking of getting an adjustable WG and just using that w/a straight line from the compressor to the WG. people have told me that the solenoid really isnt very important. is this true? what is its purpose? pleeeeease help!!! 15's are boring!!!!!!!!!!!!   :o :(

if your not using your "y restrictor" then you should be... the only thing to install the bleed valve is to unhook the hose from the cars wastegate solenoid and plug the bleed valve into the hose....in place of the solenoid

well the BC i have now isnt a bleed valve. its supposed to hold off the boost going to the WG then open @ the desired setting to control the WG, not bleed off boost. should i plug in the Y restrictor and hook up my current BC in place of where the valve should be to see if this works? i could use a "T" fitting i got with the kit also. thanks:)

dont use the T ..use the Y ... the boost controller is working just like your factory wastegate solenoid does except you can control it
:p

and make sure you have the Y hooked up right...the straight part goes to the compressor housing and the branch goes to the waste gate ;)

that is what a manual boost controller is ...its a bleed valve..it controls how much compressed air goes to the wastegate which would cause it to open or close...it serves the same purpose as the stock wastegate solenoid :D

I think he means he's useing a relief (grainger) type valve. If this is the case, you should run your hose directly from the compressor side to the WG actuator with the valve inline (make sure it is installed with the flow going the right direction.)
