Try to get one with less than 100k,they tend to have tranny problems.Otherwise great trunk no problems.Never tow with the 4wd ,just blew the transfer case moving a trailer out of the mud.

I'd heard never buy a 4x4 unless necessary, and about the trannys, mine is at 99,500 miles and is just beginning to feel a little slip at times, you hear it a little but I pull a boat almost every weekend, so at some point I knew it'd happen..... the Chevys and Fords we had never made 100K w/o a tranny rebuild, so I am happy.

Ram

Hey Mark, I have an 05 Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4x4 with over 180k on it. It runs, looks and drives like new. I have nothing bad to say about this truck except the mileage. Never got more than 320 miles to a tank.(24 gallon)Thats about 13.5 mpg on the highway. Truck has been religously maintained, every service done at the proper intervals. I am looking at an 08 Ram right now from the guy I bought this one from(at 144k)let me know if this is something you might be interested in. It is an SLT black w/black cloth interior. All stock,no mods except for trailer hitch and backup light. Like I said this truck is in excellent shape. Let me know.Thank,AJ

Thanks for the offer AJ but looking for something with about 140K less miles! You lousy mileage might be because the driver's right foot weighs too much???? Still torn between the quad cab and reg cab though. Personally, hardly ever have a passenger in my Blazer I have now so I want a reg cab. Wife has other ideas though. So it all boils down to who I want happy, me or her?

Congrats on the quad cab.:)

I have a 2004 Hemi quad cab. Bought new in 04 and it has 40K on it now. Great truck, decent milage, comfortable, love the heated seats in the winter, and the adjustable pedals make it easy for the vertically-challenged wife to drive it. :D It will tow anything....especially Turbo Regals!! ;) Had a 96 ext cab before this one.....I miss that one....great truck!! Traded it in with 146,000 miles on it, and it was still runnin strong!

I love my Dodge. 05 Quad cab turbo diesel 4x4 best ever. You dont buy a truck for gas milage so put that aside. Also when your towing like a truck should they all get about the same. Also if your not moding the crap out of it the trans hold fine.

Here's one I really like, haven't seen in person yet though. Torn on whether to get a regular cab or quad cab. 4x4 and a Hemi are a must. I would say about 95% of the time I am the only one in my current vehicle BUT with a newer truck we might tend to use it more. It is just me, the wife and 14 year old son. Might be a bit tight for him sitting in the middle of reg cab.

Well, got a deposit on the black truck in the picture at the start of this threa. Looked really nice in person, definetly has 31K on it as I crawled underneath the whole truck, nice not needing a lift to get under it.:) Took it for a test drive for about a half hour, think the dealer thought I took off with it. Hit some real rough roads and also the turnpike, tried out the 4x4 too. Some very minor cosmetic issues that not many people would even see, went over it panel by panel. Plan is to pick it up this coming Saturday.

Actually went to my first local Mopar show today (with the Buick) they had a non Mopar class.:) Took a 3rd out of 3 cars in my subdivision of GM cars. Not my proudest moment but I did arrive late. Worst part is I parked near the food vendor and my GN was covered with little grease specs all over it. Didn't even think of that when I was parked.

FYI, I have run 87 octane in mine since new, 89 when hauling the car. The manual calls for 89.

I about spit mountain dew all over the keboard when I read that!

As a dodge truck owner, I will say that I have no problem with ford truck owners, it's the chevy owners I usually don't like.

Now hold the horse and buggy!!!! I have a 92 chevy truck and i have no complants with 222,000 on her.(the old gray maire) i bought it in 2000 with 103,000 on the clock. I will tell you i am not easy on her. That 4.3 is one tough moter. but i will have to say that it is a manual.
