Does anybody know what is this diode for?

I can see this diode that is under the driver seats by the fuse box that looks like some somebody monkey rigged with tape is this how the original came or did somebody monkey rig it together and also I believe it’s for the security but not 100% sure can somebody please help I have pictures.
