Does anyone know a Roderick Upshur?

Does anyone know a Roderick Upshur? He is refusing to answer my phone calls and emails about a part that I paid for three weeks ago. He said that he sent it out over 2 weeks ago but it hasnt shown up nor has he contacted me at all. Can anyone shed some light on this guy for me? Thanks guys!

I purchased air bags from him not too long ago and it went very well.

I also purchased an Auburn Posi unit from him about a month ago and it wasn't as smoothly as the previous one. I was not informed of the damaged bearings and the massive amounts of packing peanuts used during shipping are now crammed inside the posi unit, but I guess it still works.

I PM'd him a while ago and still no response. Mine was actually addressing a couple extra items he sent free of charge.

I bought his Metcos and a turbo from him at different times and they arrived on time. I don't personally know him but since he's not replying to "good" PMs, he might still be away. Good luck on getting this resolved.

He sent me an email over 2 weeks ago saying it was already on its way.....I have a problem with that. Especially after this has been going on for over a month, wouldnt you guys?

I cant just go on "hey hes a good guy" and keep waiting. I think he has had PLENTY of time to get this to me.


I guess if I dont see or hear something from him in the next 2 or three days I will file a report on him.

I would wait a little bit longer. How did you pay? Paypal, CC through paypal, check, mo...? He may have sent you that email saying it is on it's way and intended on sending it out that day or in the morning or something... and then he spaced on it.

It would appear from all the praise here, that he is an upstanding guy and did not do this intentionally.

The reality of things is, unless it was a big $$ amount, that filing a complaint probably would not help getting your $$ back nor would it help get your part. It will probably just make the guy mad - but nothing would come from filing - at least in my experience. Unless, you paid by credit card and can do a charge back.

People have had good experiences with him, but WHY has he not even got in touch with me yet if he is SOO upstanding? hes had over a month to do something and hasnt budged a bit or even made an effort to contact me at all. Thats my problem.

You wrote that on the 2nd, a few weeks would be about the 23rd.
I am guessing he is not back yet and that is why he has not returned the messages. He may not even know you have tried to get ahold of him if he has not talked with his family since he left.


I don't know the guy from Adam, but people generally don't just up and screw someone out of the blue after they have made good on other deals.

I am optimistic about situations like this and generally, stuff works out, as long as he has a decent rep and it didn't go down like the fella with the western union...
