I called a few weeks ago for a set of wires for a friends car, Jane answered the phone and said they dont have GN wires... I asked how long till they had the wires back in stock... From listening to her voice, its going to be never or.... never.

Heard about them no longer selling downpipes in another thread.

Thats sad,..

I don't know whats going on but twice I have ordered XP fuel pumps & was told they were shipped but that never happened. I hope everything is OK with Jane & Red.I fear that all of us old guys are fading away. Meanwhile I have customers to service & have had good luck with XP pumps & would like to continue using them. Anyone know of another source. I'm not a big fan of Walbro,I just think that they are second rate to XP but maybe I'm just too set in my ways. Any opinions on that I would appreciate. I'm also having problems finding TH style downpipes. When the market got flooded with the Chinese spin offs it made it impossible for the quality manufactures to make a profit & they went away & now even the counterfeit stuff has dried up.Things seem to be going to hell & making it harder to service these cars . Thanks Lou

A friend showed me a new DP kit he purchased direct just over a year ago, it had walbro pumps with the numbers ground off.

If one thinks back over the last 6 or so years the amount ov vendors / suppliers/ tuners / shops that we have lost, it is very saddening.

Gary, I could be wrong but it seems people are racing less, and restoring the GN's and T's more and more. That seems like the trend. I think you'll see more and more restoration parts and vendors coming into the market in the near future. Again, I could be wrong and maybe just a lil biased..........

totally agree.. I went threw this in the early 70s with 60s Corvettes, Shelby Mustangs and Cobras . To my kids generation the Buick GN is their 66 427 Vette or 427 Cobra  oh well..time goes on :p

I agree to the extent that more peeps are turning to restoration, and maybe fewer hard core racers, but there will always be a trend and a place in most peeps hearts for fast turbo Buicks on the streets and at the shows even though street racing is illegal everywhere. I could never imagine going back to a totally stock turbo Buick even though mine with a few bolt-ons only runs 12.7. Just my thoughts though, but I hate to see the amount of vendors that we have lost over the last 6 years or so. It's going to get to where we will be buying foreign junk of we will be paying a King's ransom for a good old Terry Houston downpipe. Not a good thought.

So am I to assume that Walbro is the only game in town for in tank pumps ?

Lou, do a search for supra pumps / denso pumps and that is what alot of people are using. Racetronix sells a modified walbro mustang pump for 100.00 each.
