Does more timing + more octane = more power?

I currently run 110 oct with 28* of timing in my ME with no KR @ 23psi.
I may have the oportunity to change the timing in my ME from 28* to 30* or 32*. If I run 114/116 oct with this added timing will the extra timing add more power??

Thats a great big 'ol "depends" and I dont mean the diaper. My guess would be "no" but if you still have that stock turbo its worth a shot... can you change it back?

I have talked to a few people today and they agree that the stock turbo may like 32* with C16 much better. I am also talking with Steve Y to see what he can do.. I'm pretty sure it's going to work at least some..

Steve has made some MEs with several timing options up in that range for stock turbos with very good success in the past.
 
Yeah stock turbo being the key (wasnt sure if thats what you had)... we have actually run higher but the gains were not there for US so...

Kevins, I am looking at the same issue. Installing my trans plus tonight. Do you use this?

I wanted to try more timing with higher octane but was unsure if the fuel curve in a race chip was so much different that I should not just adjust timing on my 93 extender chip with the 110 octane. Meaning I should just get the race chip for the track. I wanted to increase the timing using the SMC kit when I get that also.

I thought that it would be ok to do this since the car is in PE mode at WOT and I could adjust the timing up at above 3500 rpm only, with the trans +. But, I know just enough about the cars to be dangerous with ideas :) .
 
No, I don't have the T+. Still stock MAF... I just spoke with Steve and I'm going to send in my ME and have him giver a tuneup:D

I would LOVE to experiment with different timing myself but that would be like giving me a fuse and a match:D:D

I have very little restraint when racing my car as some prolly know..

When I had the stocker turbo and red-stripes, the 30° ME chip was the best for sure. I ran C-16 and 22lbs boost.

What kinda MPH were you able to run? I was runing 108.5 with a best of 109 w/o the converter locked up. So I'm guessing locking it would be 110-111 and MAYBE the chip timing another 2+..
I am hoping to run 113-114 which is stretching it A LOT but ya hafta have a goal..It's going to need a 1.5x 60' to do it though but I can get the suspension tuned to do that..

I know, I know but it sounds good on paper....
