Check em real close. If the bushing is not perfectly round on the outside edge or it is not present in a spot then it has worn into the hinge and you will need to replace the whole hinge. If it is an upper hinge that needs work do not forget to purchase or rent a spring compression tool for the upper door hinge spring.
Definitely get the GM's from your local dealer.
I have done bookoo of these and they can be a PITA to line up the body lines with proper spacing between panels. I use 2 floor jacks with a long two by four so as not to damage the bottom of the door. It is pretty heavy. At least these do not have to be cut off like the ones I did on my firebird!

I never remove the hinges...always cut the pin in half, then drive the pieces out, pull the door back a bit and insert the new bushings.....It's a pain this way too, but then I don't have to mess with alignment.

I missed your question about wether or not to remove the door. You do not have to remove the door for either the bushing/pin procedure or the hinge procedure.
Simply follow steve's instructions for the pins and bushings and if you need to do the hinges, just do 1 at a time. when you open the door all the way you can still fit a 3/8 drive socket and ratchet in there to loosen most of them. for the others you cannot get to with a socket, make sure you use a boxed end wrench so as not to round off the heads.
You are good to go now dude.
