I've painted a half dozon of these cars and when it comes to the door seals it's a pain in the a**, unless you have NOS seals. Well no one carries them anymore and i have found the best replacement so far. NO IT'S NOT SOFTSEAL...they are junk. The METRO Supersoft seal are the next best option. PN# LM16-JR. You can get them on E-Bay from Tamraz parts for $64.50 shipped...or go direct to METRO and pay $119.95. I have installed them and they are pretty close. Not perfect but the best i have found so far. This should put a end to what is the next best until someone makes something better.

Installed a full set on mine. BG ESR I've seen.

It is a conspiracy!! Everyone thinks I'm stupid and can't spell. Truth be known there right. But I try and that is all that matters.;)

I agree, Metro Supersoft is pretty good. Soffseal sucks bad.

Just glad to finally found out which brand works. I need to try the pillar seals to see how they work. I was very confused because a vendor sold me some and said they were Fairchilds and they were really Metro's one time and they worked great, then the next time i bought them from the same vendor i recieved Softseals and they didn't....Some shady stuff going on if you ask me. Fairchilds only make the T-Top seals and they work pretty good. Trial and error i guess. Hope this helps out for someone getting new door seals down the line.

I can tell you what about seal companies that I have found out as of lately & suspected in the past. They work together. Friendemies LOL. We already have NOS GM Seals getting built. Wires in the hard top & exact but better seals for the lower door . So if you think you are buying from this or that manufacturer???? Your buying from That or This depending which way the wind blows & who has the product in stock. Low $ seals are just that. If the price is too good there is a reason they can do it. All this is about to change for the Turbo Buick ,Gbody & the The TTA ,F-body. If you have been holding out for your hard top keep on doing it. T-top Gbody has been covered 2 years ago. You really have no idea what you are talking about when it comes to seals. Nothing personal but you don't have a clue what Multi Million dollar comapnies do.

You probablly never installed a set of Fairchilds t-top seals. You might as well of laid a towel in there if you did. I didn't mean to sound the way I did. After I read what I posted it sounded worse. I just spent a lot of time & $ figuring what is coming from where & why it fits one day but not the next. Reading this post & certain others make me realize how blind people are. I was blind too ;)

Brian, your t-top seals are the closest and if taking the time to install means night and day of the finished product. I personally tested Fairchilds numerous attempts to get their product correct. They are close and they fit good but I think the seal is still to hard.

Real Classy Brian, I must not know a thing about door seals or painting cars for all that matters. " Nothing personal" What are you talking about we must be blind, It's just the junk seals that are out there in the market. Make something better then. Is this your way of communicating with people who support you on the board? I've been painting these cars for 15 years and everyone needs door seals and i can assure you Brian that over the years i have found only one aftermarket door seal that works ok, and it's Metro. If you claim that you are making a better one then great. I'm just floored that you would come into my post and bash me after i buy almost everything from you as a vendor. I'm pissed, I never said anything about you at all in this post so why would you? And for your information i work at a Multi Million dollars company that does over 500 million a year so i do know a bit about how it works bud. I'm just very dissapointed. I was just trying to help others out and this is what i get from a vendor...it's a shame.
Call me if you want to hash this out, and not behind a computer screen.

After letting this all soak in....I thought we were on the same page as far as getting the best products and letting people know what works and what don't. Maybe the way i took what you posted was the wrong way, but non the less it sounded like you were saying i didn't know crap about seals, when indeed i do. Maybe the companys do share seals when there stock is out. That's along the lines of why i said it's kind of shady if you recieved door seals or any other part for that matter and it's not what you ordered. I look forward to seeing what seals you come out with. I want the best product i can give to my customer and that's why i turn to you.

What I meant is not to say you didn't know your job you don't realize who sells what & how products are shared thru similar businesses.

I hope this makes a lot more sense.

In other words when your knocking one & praising another it could change in a few months when they run out & purchase from a competitor. Remember what we ran into on the door seals? One was great the other sucked? Same supplier. This is when I did some investigation. I have a pile of seals in my office from almost every major Gbody manufacturer.

No problem Brian, It's water under the bridge. I understand what you mean, I've seen it quite a few times, Like i said it's trial and error i guess. I just want you to come out with a quality door seal so that it will put a end to it once and for all. How long before your's are ready? I would like to be your first customer.
Thanks Tony
