Door Window Seals (outside)

I have a 84 GN, I got window seals off of ebay and the car was in the body shop at the time getting repainted. The body tech told me that this was the wrong part, "the part that you need is attached to the door molding on top of the door". Can anyone straighten me out, I contacted the ebay seller and he never had a complaint, so he says. Is there a special part # for the GN's that the other cars don't use? Thanks in advance for any help in clearing this up.

As you can see all GN's are not created equal. The 1984 GN and T-Type use different door belt moldings than the 85-87's. They are actully the same moldings that are used on the Limiteds but only painted black. They are a two piece molding. The part numbers you need for the rubber is right-20674276 and left-20674277. These are available from GM or vendors like GBodyParts. You can use the ones you got off of eBay if you remove the wide molding but than you will have the rivits that hold it on to deal with.
