i bought a used atr downpipe and i didn't know to ask and i wasn't told but i guess it is for a car with headers.i have stock manifolds it fits in there fine but i am really concerned that it is gonna melt my wheel well. it is like a 1/4 inch away from it. can i wrap it with that high temp wrap and be ok? any other suggestions?

You could wrap the pipe and it will help, but most people with pipes that are close to the inner fender either cut the plastic or fab up a heat shield. But if left alone, it will eventually melt the inner fender plastic. Typically, ATR down pipes were made to clear ATR headers. Finding an old ATR pipe that was bent for factory headers is going to be very tough.

i'll sell it before i cut anything! don't have headers so i don't really need it! very nice piece but passenger side turbo wheel wells are harder to get than what you guys think ! when the cars usually in accidents it is usually in the right front and these wheel wells are usually cracked! i have had sevral turbo cars that were in accidents that somebody put right side non turbo wheel wells in.

i could put in a non turbo wheel well and not care but that is too much work for me! not worth it .

will wrapping it help??? can i get some of this type of wrap in the picture and will it help??

any other suggestions?

holy crap...was that car pulled out of the ocean?

actually it was a sad story of a guy trusting a friend that he left his car in the care of.after a few years of the sitting inside the keeper of the car forklifted it outside and stole the wheels off of it and let his dog inside it.then the keeper was keeping the car hostage until the owner fixed heavy equiptment to unblock the car.the owner of the car told him F. U. the most of the nose of the car "was stolen" wink wink. then the keeper of car tried selling it to the neighbor of the owner.the owner told the keeper to tell him you will buy it that way the car was dug out from behind the equiptment and the neighbor and owner were able to repo his car that being held hostage.the owner paid $4500 for the car and i give him a lot less.the shell of the car is really decent not rot in quarter or rockers and i like the fact it is a moonroof car.interior is really decent. i plan on stripping weight out of it and making a racecar out of it since hot air cars are near worthless.it will probably end up with a 3speed and a intercooled engine.
