I've had great luck with BFG Drag Radials, getting 60 ft times in the high 1.5's with new tires. I need new tires now and I've changed the car by replacing the stock convertor with a Precision 9 1/2" lockup convertor. I haven't raced the car since the change. My question is: do you think now my car may leave too hard for the drag radials with the new convertor? Maybe I should go with MT Street ET's?... or just get a new set of BFG Drag Radials?? What do you think? Thanks, Paul

How do you get 1.52 with those tires? What size tire on what size rim? How much air pressure and how much of a burn out? What is done to your suspension? Thanks.

1.57 was my best BUT I've had many in the 1.5's.

I drive around the water and back into it because I have the stock front tires on the car. Then I do a moderate burnout (just untill I see some smoke...) and have about 16 to 18 lbs of air in the tires. I have 1 air bag with about 22 lbs in it. The car has a pinion snubber, rear seat braces, Competition Engineering 90/10 front shocks and 50/50 rear shocks. It has the front sway bar removed and I have added the big fat ATR rear sway bar.

The car still handles excellent on the street because of the big fat rear bar. Now with the new convertor, it even idles smoother than a new car does. The car weighs 3750 with me in it. Paul

I had ET Streets (26x11.5) and could easily get 1.6s-1.7s with them. When they wore out I went to the 275-60/15 BFG because they were 28" tall and I did pick up 1.5 - 2 mph just with that change. However, I can only get 1.8-1.9 60' with the BFGs. I will go back to the ET Streets when the BFG's wear out.

Paul,
I've got a set of 28x11.50 ET Streets (9 inchs wide) off Amands GS that you can try out. They'll work on a 7 or 8 inch rim.....Keith

Thanks for the offer Keith. Maybe once the weather cools off a little bit, I'll catch up with you at the track when you go next, and give em a try. Paul
