Sorry but there is no "INTERIOR" section to post this in.

I did a search on here but cant find anything. Has anyone ever relocated there front seat back farther to gain a little more leg room?

I really find I could use more leg room, but don't wish to butcher/modify my car to do it. I guess I am wondering if any of you have done anything? and if so what.

I have one idea of picking up and old set of manual tracks and welding longer extensions to them to move the track back a bit more. However I have not looked at it close enough yet to see what would be needed to do this.

Any thoughts guys?

Although I've never done it, I think it should be pretty easy to do by using two steel flat bars (one for the two left seat "legs" and another similar one for the right side) which can be bolted down to the stock studs on the floor. In the flat bar, drill four new holes (with the spacing you want to move the seat backwards). Then, you just bolt the seat into these new holes. That way, you can always remove everything if you want to return to stock...Also, the distance between the original studs and the new hole can be made a little more or less than really needed as you'll still have the seat's adjustment to achieve the driving position that suits you best.

Hope this helps...

If you go to G-Bodyparts web site look for bucket seat repair.

Looks like you could use weld those brackets where you want them.
Hope this helps

I did something similar

made 4 flat strips of steel (1x3)
drilled hole in the front and rear,
welded a3/8 bolt to rear and bolted to orig stud,(placing seat 2in rearward)
now almost hits rear seat, LOL
and as a bonus, my helmet no longer hits the roll bar!
as seat sits a little lower.

Thanks for the ideas guys! All of those suggestions sound good! I am going to look into this further and see what is the best way to go.

Thanks Again!:)
