Driveshaft Universal Joint

Just had a new universal joint installed on my driveshaft. The one that attaches to the rearend. Do the clips go on the side that attaches to the rearend where the straps are? The machine shop left them in the box and I seem to remember them being on that bearing/seal/cap side also.

Yes, install the clips like you described. It is the only thing that keeps the u-joint centered.
