ok guys I know this had to have been asked atleast once on this board but I have never really been to the transmission thread
so heres the question

does anyone know the percentage of drivetrain loss to the wheels on a stock GN/ttype transmission

I would assume there would be less with the torque converter locked so please tell me that too if you know

also what can be used to lower drivetrain loss, does a converter or shift kit?

thank you

Carl

The average loss in drive train on most all cars is 10-20% I don't know a way you would be able to measure for sure other than if you had the eng. dyno'd the then the the car dyno'd and compare. A tighter tranny when it was put together and tc would help.
