I'm having problems with the trans in the car. On Wednesday night, I staged the car at 5psi, launched and boom the car felt like it popped out of gear and the trans is slipping very badly in all gears (including reverse). The TV cable appears to be fine, so I guess it's in the trans.
I talked the Eric Schertz (sp?) at Dynotech in Manville, N.J. yesterday morning and am going to take the car to them. Right now I have the "Mustang Project" in one side of the garage, and don't want to get into R&R'ing the tranny in the other side. I'm going to have them do everything and am probably going to go with their street/strip setup for $1195 installed.
Anybody have experience with this shop or Eric?
Please don't bash, if there is something rather controversial, just PM me. ;)

Eric

I heard when the shop was under the old management it was a good place to stay away from. People I have talked have nothing but good things to say about Eric. He was profiled in GM High Tech a while back. He is supposed to be one of the top transmission persons in that area. I am told his pricing is very reasonable also.Bruce

my friend sleeper-6 just got his trans back from dynotech and everything seems goods. He opted for the $1400 dollar rebuild (for e.t.s down to 10.00) and did the R&R himself to save the 200 bucks. If my trans goes this spring which I'm thinking its going to do (doing some rebuilding and upgrading this winter with 170k on the tranny its not going to hold) I'll be taking it there. he actually posted about his experience not too long ago: http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=61784 .

Eric is awesome! He helped me out with my tranny at the end of the summer. Took my car in on my scheduled appointment date and the car was done on the day promised and at a great price. I will definately go back to Eric in the future, it looks like he's got a full service shop there. He's a down to earth guy and left a good first impression. A couple of guys i know also had their trannys done by him in the past and have had plenty of trouble free 10 and 11 sec. runs on their street driven TR's. Highly recommended!! One big advantage with Eric is that you are dealing directly with the rebuilder, not a middleman who is just R&R'ing your tranny.

Dynotech:

Dont let the name get you mixed up....it is the same, but the business is run a whole lot differently....I have dealt with both Fred and Eric....before and Eric after the new acqusition.

Eric is an incredible guy to deal with....Now if I could just get him to go for our Twin turbo Impala setup;)

Very good work you can expect, and if you have problems, he is right there to guide you through what it could be....and he will repair it hassle free as long as its still under warranty.

I like it !

Just got mine done last week. I had the same problem as you. Eric garauntees his regular srteet/strip rebuild to 11.99 or about 500 hp. I'm hoping to eventually put mine into the 10's someday so he recomended I go with his "Hi-Pro" Trans. Witch was $1495. He set me up with a wider band, billet servo, and an extra clutch in the overdrive pack. Really, good guy, knows his stuff, and takes the time to explain what options you have. I haven't had a cahnce to really beat on it, every time i punch it, I just nuke the tires, but so far I'm really happy with his work.
