I might be posting this in the wrong section but I've searched the boards and want to make sure before I try it. Is it ok for me to add 3-4 gallons of E85 with my 50 lb injectors and TT chip that is burnt for 91 octane without any other changes? I just filled the car up with Exxon 93 and prolly haven't used 2 gallons yet but I was gonna get 3-4 gals. of E85 and top it off after a few more miles but I don't want to cost myself any unnecessary money, the point is to save money. So no worries about fuel pump,lines,injectors,O2,etc? From what I've read around 10 gallons of 93 and 3-4 of E85 is what most are using. My gas tank is new so no worries about dirt breaking loose. Last thing ....are these 17 or 18 gallon tanks?

Watch your o2s very closely. You will very likely need to increase fueling when mixing. I mixed for about two tanks....then went full blown e85. You're going to love it!! Snoop around in the e85 forum - there's a lot of info about mixing there.

If you're worried about outrunning your 50# injectors with a 30% mix, ask around first. I can tell you i'm running stock turbo at 23 psi with full e85 and i don't think i'm maxing duty cycle. I'm only at 12.8 and eric has told me i should be able to get into the 11s with my 60s on e85.

I will soon be getting wbo2, downpipe and powerlogger though so i can keep close tabs on things. Enjoy the everclear!!!!

Why are you wanting to do this? For more power? Turning it up a bit? Cheaper fuel than buying 93? I don't think you will see a bit of difference other than a little more fuel in the tank.

15 gal tank, couple gals now and then sould be alright i go 4 to 1 on mixture never had a problem.

Few questions....
Do you have 3 or more E85 stations/pumps are near you?
Do you typically drive this car on round trips that are 3 hours or less?
Do you do your own work?
Did you tune your car on your own as it is now?
Do you want the added fun of more boost and timing without $15 per gallon fuel?

IF YOU ANSWER YES TO ALL THE ABOVE, CONVERT THE CAR TO E85!
Forget the mixing ideas.

I was doing a 30% mix then a 50% mix for a few months on 42lb injectors. I turned up the WOT fuel in the turbo tweak chip by 20%. I was able to turn up the boost from 15 to 18 with no knock. It made more power, but I wanted even more so I got 60lb injectors and an E-85 TT chip. Now I'm 100% E-85 at around 21 psi and I love it. One thing though it does burn through fuel MUCH faster on E-85 than on 93 gas.

I'm sure you spending more time in boost decreases fuel MPG also. How come I never hear about how much race fuel they consume?

That's true I probably have been driving it a big harder but I'm pretty sure it's a known fact that mpg on e85 will decrease on any car.

i went to a 30% E85 mix and loved the feel of the car, BUT i still haven't gone WOT on the E85 mix. The engine seems to feel different in every way even at idle or i am probably just crazy.
