Does anyone have any experience with E85, SD2 CHIP AND TR 6. If so can you please give me your experience and tips on what works and what doesn't.

Subscribed. Need this info too.

I was runing flex fuel with the sd2 . After getting a decent tune with gas I went and tuned the table and threw alil bit more timing per ethonal content . The base seting was super close and EGT where alil high so I added a degree and a1/2 .

Eric,

I will be running E85, with the updated SD2 chip for flex fuel and a TR6. I want to know how guys are setting them up for the first start up. What is the plugs gap to, what is timing set to, what another things i need to do for first start up?

Turn on the option flex fuel put e85 in the tank and go.

Nothing special is needed . I don't have a tr6 but I'm sure u can gap it up to 40-50 .

Ok, Dank Gn. How long have you been running your setup. How has the tuning been for you?

I run e85 sd2 and a tr6. Out of the box the tune was pretty much spot on and I'm at high altitude. I haven't touched timing yet but I had to lean out some fuel tables which is to be expected at this altitude. I run ur5 gapped at .035

As a starting point, just use the base tune. If using flexfuel, turn on that option. The TR6 doesn't really affect the tune. I would gap around .030".

Ihave had the flex fuel deal for 5-6month . I love it I only have been on the Dyno 1 time and only had 4 runs . I tuned it from 470HP - 510 in the 4 runs . I Have 80 lbs injectors so it's alil small so I spray alil Alky on top to keep the DC down

I'm putting the chip in for a completely new motor not the same setup I had when I first had the original chip made. Dose that make a difference?

I will be running 120lb injectors, and hope to make some good power.

Use the TR6 features for verifying crankshaft base timing for starters. Then use the TR6 feature for fine tuning the cam sensor position. Plug gap will depend on which type of plug you use. Auto lite racing or NGK racing plugs are a good way to go. Recessed tip for sure. With the chip just start in the basement with boost really low. Use the cell multipliers to get you close and then fine tune with VE. Be conservative on timing at the beginning.

I will be running ngk 3249 plugs

I recommend not using those plugs with the SD2/Powerlogger (the ngk 3249). They do not have a resistor like a stock plug, and you will be asking for data corruption in the ECM and Powerlogger.
Spark plugs without resistors should not be used with an engine controlled by a computer. I know there are some people that are getting away with it, but I highly recommend not doing that.

What spark plug would you recommend running

There are many good plugs, but I typically use NGK UR5 for the stock iron heads. I have some customers that have run mid 9's that use UR6's (which is colder).

But, you should use what works best for your car.

I will try the UR6. The motor is a brand-new build it only has run time on a break in stand. I will also talk with my engine builder as well about what plug to run.
