Getting back to your original subject, I don't believe it will add to his fedback rating. I have noticed when I sold or bought more than one item form someone that if it is the same user the overall score doesn't change. He should not be holding your item as the other sales have already been completed and have nothing to do with this one. Maybe he is just worried you weren't happy with the other items and were bidding on this to leave neg. but then you haven't posted feedback yet.
Why don't you just post feedback and be done with it?;)

EXACTLY!! :)

I do NOT agree. As soon as the seller gets the $$ he should leave positive feedback. His dealing about feedbacks is done as far as im concerned when he gets the $$. If there is a problem with the product it should be taken care thru email or phone and NOT be reflected in feedback unless it does NOT resolved..

National U got it WRONG!

Buyers should leave feedback 1st.. That way the seller knows it arrived & they like the product.

I once left a feedback 1st as a seller & the buyer came back with NEG complaining about time in mail. That was not my fault & I did not deserve a NEG for that.

EXAMPLE: What resturaunt touts itself a great food?
Unless they get customer feedback or recomendations to others.

Unfortunatly doing it this way you will get people who will not email or phone.. They will cut to the chase & leave NEG.

I have worked with buyers who were not happy in some cases
& refunded $$.. Usually if they are nice & not flying off the handle
I will work with them if they are not happy.

I had a guy who lived 4 towns away who wanted to come by to pay for item in person at night. Well since I work 2nd shift my wife did not want a stranger stopping by. I told him this.
He refused to send me the payment & got a BIG FAT NEG.

Leaving feedback first opens you up to NEGs that might not be deserved..

I can tell from this crowd input that most of you are Buyers..
WHERE ARE the sellers??

LILSIXSTEVE>>Thats what I was gonna ask you if all you did was sell on ebay..maybe you need to buy some too..actually Ive sold more than Ive bought on ebay..not that much still.. Ever think the buyer may be scared to give you a positive & you give him a negative? I mean he doesnt know you that well either & some bigger number sellers dont care much about giving feedback..they got enough as it is...your not going to avoid a negative by not leaving feedback..if you did something wrong or if the buyer is a real azz you will get a negative no matter what..

Two Lane,

I'll tell you what the Troll Terminator would do. Nothing in E-bay is worth having to negotiate after the fact just to get the goods you ordered. I would dispatch an e-mail to him that states:

"Since you have decided to hold my purchase hostage, I will give you a few choices....

1. Disclose the shipping amount on these transactions so that they may be finalized.

2. If not number #1, cram it up your @zz and keep your products.

Should you then decide to leave negative feedback, I will reply will lots of feedback on my own that will caution everyone about your methods of extortion. I would prefer to have the transactions go smoothly just like last time, but if you want to make this an issue, Let's see how far you want to push it."

People like this tick me off.

Well I have my fair share of good feedbacks on ebay but to me it is the sellers responsibilty to leave feedback first as they are the ones to get the first part of the deal..if for some strange reason they get pissed or something after..thats why they have replies on them..tells both sides of the story...when me(seller) receives money from you (buyer) as far as im concerned my end of buisness is pretty well done so I leave feedback on how payment went then hope they leave for me..my opinion & my way..sorry if anyone doesnt see it that way...you guys sound like the guys that wont stage first in a drag race..
Brian

Brian

Bought plenty & leave feedback ASAP when Item arrives.

As A buyer I have noticed some SELLER SUK at letting you know that you money arrived or that they sent the item out.

As A Seller I try to email them to let them know $$ has arrived & when I will ship out as common courtesy. :)

hi,

im my opinion this whole feedback thing is optional.it is a nice gesture to give feeback ,but obviously if you dont get any negative feedback the customer must be happy.im sure they would contact you if they werent.as far as the statement that you need to give feeback before they will make the transaction, that is just simply rediculous.that would be like going into a store ,trying to purchase something and them telling you at the checkout that you have to fill out a form asking for your opinion or they wont sell you the product.i can see them asking if you would give feedback so it would help their rating but demanding it i would not stand for.what you need to do is explain this in a normal manner, your opinion ,and if they disagree or seem very rude at that point i would not buy it and explain this in your feedback to ebay.

thanks,nick

THANKS!

Fellows,

I want to thank you for your thoughtful & informative replies.

From the responses, it's very apparent the FEEDBACK portion of eBay is not a very precise tool, due to the various ways it is routinely abused and manipulated.

I hope the "Law Of The Boomerang" arrives on his doorsteps
(in Scottsdale, Arizona) eventually for the way he is treating others in his quest for more bogus/meaningless FEEDBACK.

Again, I thank every one of you for your helpful responses! :)

Sounds flakey, I wouldn't do buisness with him at all, wants your feedback before he ships ( I would question why, definately), might be kissing your money goodbye. And he's in violation of Ebays policies.
