Man I was reading this thread an expecting to step right in the middle of a **** flingin' fight! When I finally upgrade my only requirement is excellent flow and 3in inlets/outlets. I could care less about cooling since Im going to be running alky I just want it to breath and the bonus cooling is fine with me! This looks like a decent unit to me and it's got 3in pipes!

I just ordered the bigboy 4" kit from the guy that supplys gn1 their stuff. let me know if anyone is interested. it was very cheap $$$. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Let's hear more. Show us some pics and what the results are. What is the price?

price will be unspecified (low low) and should be here next week. i will post up pix and install pix as it goes.

thanks,

Brad

Ok, just recieved the kit in the mail today. I think is looks ?? well you guys tell me, lets just say i'm very happy for the $$. the pipes are both 3" and the intercooler core is 12" x 19.5" x 4.5" and outer edge tank tube to tank tube is 28". it came with the couplers and reducers and t-bolt clamps. So here's some pix. What does everyone think ?? if anyone is interested in one i can give you the guys # i bought it from.

I do not have the GN1 FMIC but I do run there downpipe with an external wastegate. If their FMIC is as good as the down pipe (craftsmanship and price), then you should have NO problems! I would have bought their FMIC but I got a killer deal of a used RJC FMIC. I really can't tell what your combo is from your signature, but with the BB turbo and the GN1 FMIC, you should have a lot of fun!

well for now its all parts that need to go togather. so heres a list of what counts:

unopened 3.8 L with club springs

dbb 6131 precision
3" thdp w/electric cutout. into dual 2.5's
60 lbs skinnies
maft pro with bc and lc-1
above fmic
62mm hemco + 62mm tb
4" cai with maf deleted
red's pump and volt booster

sure i forgot some little things , most everything else is stock..

Don't forget the Hot wire kit for that new pump. A volt boost is good, but if the wiring back to the pump isn't upgraded the boost in voltage will not be as significant as it would with the Hot Wire kit.
Very important.

You have got me in stitches, how much and how do we contact this guy? Looks to be a very nice piece.

The IC looks good. Can you take front end install pics cuz I’m wondering how low the pipes will hang?

I hope your ride is MPH about 130 thru the traps cuz that is the only way to take advantage of a 4.5" core.

ebay intercooler 25x16x4

lol where in the world do you get this from? This is the biggest load of crap ive read. Have you tested it back to back? I find it hard to believe any front mount can perform worse than a stock intercooler. My dad runs an ebay intercooler eBay Motors: FMIC Turbo Intercooler 25x16x4 Buick Grand National AM (item 110121485092 end time May-06-07 21:03:49 PDT)
It went 124 mph this weekend on a PT61 and only 25 psi. I did the whole thing for much much less than any vendors FMIC, and i couldn't be happier to save the 5-600$. I don't see the kit the original poster asked about on ebay right now but here are the pics GN1 PERFORMANCE - INTERCOOLERS Looks like a quality unit and im sure performs well. Its not rocket science.

This was the first intercooler I tried over stock, and for the money you can't beat it.It woke my car up like night to day.If you are on a budget and want a front mount over a stock one. This is the best buy for the money. If I was building a low budget car with mostly stock parts and needed more air, this would be my choice.for the money, this intercooler can take you in the low 11's to hi 10's.What other front mount for the money can do that?also the craftmanship is excellent.

Do any of these ebay FMIC come with the pimpes and clamps to bolt right up as a full kit? Or do you have to make the rest?

i have one and its been on for approx. 1.5 yrs. I like it and it's definitely not made from cheap material as stated earlier. it is worth the money imho. no complaints. the pipes are steel vice aluminum but the core is all alum. and the welds are REAL nice. great fit too! oh yeah, its definitely more efficient than stock.
