I installed the powerlogger a couple weeks ago and all was good. Today I pulled the car out of the shop to sweep the floor and then I went to crank it to pull it back in and all I got was start and die...start for a second and then die...got to checking a few things and wound up messing with the ECM and found that if I moved the PL on the ECM it would fire and stay running...running kinda like crap but running non the less..took it for a drive and it would die, run lean, rich, hard start white smoke when started just really weird ..every time I just barely touched the PL board it would die and then upon restart run really odd...I removed the PL and all is well....I'm gonna reclean the connection points on my ECM..any other ideas???

I Guess my question would be has anyone else experienced problems like this and what solved it?

I thought it was clean enough but I'm gonna reclean and reinstall everything this morning.

I use dielectric grease on everything. Trust me it works. I put it on everything under the hood and even.

Cleaned it all real good with the Goo Gone, reassembled the PL back in the ECM. Fired it up and everything seems good to go....hope it stays that way

Dielectric grease will keep it from corroding.

Everything was fine till I took the car to the track last weekend.....I get there, pull the car off the trailer and everything went south. I messed with the PL while running and the whole attitude of the car would change never being consistent. It went from barely running to a high idle to sounding like a crammed out 350. Scan master readings where normal then go off the chart same washappening with the PLC screen... went ahead and removed the PL from the ECM and all seemed good. I have cleaned cleaned recleaned and check all connections to try and find the problem, can a bad ECM cause this.

Are you saying that the PL board might be making contact with the ECM case causing some kind of interference?

I got everything apart right now but the last time at the track I wound up removing the PL just to be able to make a pass it would not allow the car to run for nothing...ill mess with it once I get my engine back together..

I'm having similar issues after rebuilding the engine now it fires right up and dies.
The OEM ECM metal box is getting very hot?
I checked the settings and that the chip was seated OK.
The PL connector is tapped so it does not ground out on the metal box as well.
