Education on my turbo: Dave England PT67(76) P-trim turbo

I picked up this turbo from a local TB enthusiast as an eventual upgrade. Been working with/on cars for years, but just getting into upgrading turbos, and though I have read the stickies about turbos and such, most of it goes over my head in terms of understanding what the turbo designations/numbers means (67, 76, p-trim, ...) If someone could educate me on the particulars of my turbo (in layman terms), I would be very appreciative.
To alleviate any posts about "do you have supporting mods", ..., I have been building up parts needed to work together once I am ready to upgrade to this turbo, including Champion ported stock heads, Champion ported intake manifold, alky, converter, fuel pump/hotwire, injectors, headers, G-body DP w/ test pipe, 62mm TB and matched plenum, RJC power plate - I am sure there are a few parts I'm missing. The only big item I am saving up for prior to any of this is a Janis Trans

67 mm cast compressor wheel,p trim ex wheel.solid low 10 sec turbo with the right combo and tune even faster on the right car.

This turbo has been in the 9s at 78 lbs/min, its going to need a good efficient converter that comes up around 3300 at 0# on the foot brake.

I have a billet 10" S-3 NLU 3500 stall converter - was told, with the right combo, this would be a good fit. Also have a Cotton's stretch SLIC on hand as well.

Not sure who makes that converter you would have to check the slip numbers, but i do know that Dave Huseks 3521 or a Ptc 9.5 17bl would work great.
The cottons stretch will be good until mid 10s i think its only 15 rows, imo faster then that id go Front Mount or if you must have a slic go with the Pte unit its also been 9s.

I weekend drive a 6776 dbb. Not sure of the trim as it was on the car when I bought it. Could look thru receipts. Originally had a 9.5 inch multi disc vigilante 3200 stall that spooled this turbo quick. Real quick. Boost came on like a light switch. Went with a different converter for better street manners. Yes technically a little more lag now but still fun to say the least. I have it set for 25lbs.

thats alot of stall for a ptrim turbo and a .63 ex housing.that turbo doesnt need more than 3200 usually.3500 stall is what we use to use with the larger q trim turbine wheel and .85 ex housings.with converter tech now you can go lower on the initial stall and still have coupling effeciency.too loose on the converter and they drive around sloppy and lay over on the big end usually over 100mph.low 10s with a good hook and slip numbers around 5/10% with weight at 3800+lbs and boost in the 30psi range,9s with the weight in the 3500/3600 lb area.

Got this converter from Bruce (WE4) and he mentioned that having Vince Janis build the trans with this converter would be workable and a good fit. Had a line on a good used 3200 10" LU converter - maybe I should look into that.

What are you supporting mods for your car, which work well with your turbo?

I was lucky enuf that the guy I bought the car from chose the right cam 212/212 I believe, converter and turbo to match. I changed out the converter and upgraded to alkycontrol from an old smc kit. Cas V4 intercooler, 60lb inj and TT chip. Heads have only been cleaned up. Great street manners. Its all about the heads, cam, converter, turbo and your goals. Those much more seasoned than me can tell you for sure what combo works. Like i said I got lucky. Boost is rock solid @ 25lbs with a hallman pro controller which it rarely ever sees. I roll it up to around 20 and that's usually enuf to get the job done.

The compressor wheel is a T04z and the turbine is a T04 76 trim aka P. 9 sec potential. Converter has to be right.
