I want to remove my intake and I have a motec and distributor. Is the Distributor just used as a trigger? Do I just make sure I replace the Distributor and rotor in the exact same position on reassembly then fire it up. This is a Turbo s/b in a GN
Thanks

It depends if you use crank trigger or not, some distributors have crank and cam sync in both. I am sure chevy is similar, usually on a v8 the cam sync would be at 45 BTDC and you would cut off the 7 teeth on the wheel and leave 1 tooth. You would have to remove the reluctor and use a set screw to lock it in proper postion. You need to have the instructions for you Motec and see how they set up cam sync.

Thanks, there is no crank trigger other then the Distributor. I will remove the cap and see what they have done. I would guess putting the distributor back in the same position as when I remove it should work?
