I am going to give it a try. I plan on cleaning both maiting surfaces really good and applying some high temp rvt to both sides of the gasket then install the plate and let it sit for a few day's. I'll let you know how I made out.
i did mine... just make sure you get the thick plate with the locator plug and not just the flimsy block off plate. I got mine direct from Champion but i think GBody might have them also. I used the right stuff and let it cure first before starting. Seems to be doing great and IMO really cleans up the drivers side of the intake.
I was looking at the RJC plate. I thought it looked nice. Does anyone know if that one is any good?
Joel, From what I gather the only advantage is appearance. It sounds like the EGR is turned off in most aftermarket chips. I figure if i don't need it, get rid of it.
I had a mechanic install mine when he was doing some other work for me. Got it home and it leaked. I removed it and found he didn't put the rtv all the way around. Seems simple enough for a monkey to do. I resealed it and haven't had any leaks in about 1.5 years. I bought mine from Cal Hartline at Bowling Green a couple years ago.
