I have a slightly modded '87 GN and am having an idling problem. I've done the typical look for vacuum and exhaust leaks. I have NO vacuum leaks. Used a smoke machine and everything. I did find one exhaust leak. It's at my EGR valve, u can hear it ticking. Would this throw everything off and have slow spool conditions and bad idle, just as if i had a leak at the crossover or something?

I would say yes, i just removed mine people have differing opinions on either way, in my opinion it is just extra clutter and doesn't really affect much, i bought a plate from cottons (man that guy is gettin alot of press around here  ) and had chip maker not look for it at all or get some gasket maker slather tighten and pray r2d2 don't chatter, blirp or whistle.
