87gn, I’m installing a new AC compressor.

The Old ac compressor had electrical connector whereas the new compressor does not have this electrical connector. Can it be run without this connector or do we have to buy a new connector and install it?

High pressure switch. Get a new one from your local parts store. There is 2 versions if I remember correctly make sure you get the correct one.

Is there a positive or negative for this switch or can it be connected either way? Our connector got destroyed.

Thanks

It's a grounding switch one side goes to the compressor which is grounded via the motor and brackets, and the other goes to the compressor clutch which needs the ground to run the compressor.

Closes on normal A/C pressure opens around 450 psi. or so to shut off compressor I assume if there's a blockage in the system or some other failure.

I think you will need a new connector for the wire end to hook it up, Caspers Electronics or used parts guys here should have one with a pigtail to fix your wiring. Lots of people remove the A/C for some reason...
