electrical gurus I need some help...

on my 84 regal when I turn the wiper knob off, my wipers don't turn off unless I turn the car off. what could be causing this to happen?

when you turn the key back on ,while the knob is off ,do the wipers stay off?

yes they only turn off when I turn the ignition off.

if they stay off after you turn the ignition back on, until you flip the wiper switch back on,i would call it a bad switch....imo
