hey guys im going to put a custom system in since its a tradition in all of my cars but had a few questions wit that and the electrical system. im thinking of putting an optima yellow top in front and back for the radio allong with a capacitor and a new alternator but i havent yet due to the brakes. every time i tap the brakes my lights dim. and sometime the light flicker on there own. and one more thing what about the voltage regulators. are they any good? thanks.

Dual battery's? The Optima yellow top is use mostly for dual battery systems and autos that depends on powering devices when the vehical is not depending on a alternator. How big of a system you're thinking on? Dual batterys are for real serious high power system. A red top Optima with an upgraded alternator (what Quick6 mentioned) is plenty...

Capacitor? What systems are you looking at and i'll tell you if you need it. IMO caps are a wasted of money.

And if your having electrical problems have it checked out. If you press on the brakes then the lights dim then you might have a bad alternator or a wrong one in there.
