Had my National for about 8 years now. The original owner repainted the car. The guy I bought it from didn't know what year that was painted . I know they are applied with double sided tape. That's not what I'm worried about .What bothers me is that the paint under the emblem isn't as faded as the paint that's not under the emblem. As you can plainly see the emblems are too far back.......... Thats why I bought the replacements ...Opinions would be helpful.
Thanks guys

I thought the hood emblem was centered on the cowl, not towards the windshield.

Your right. They are supposed to be centered . That's why I purchased the replacements.

So your question has to do with what to do about the color difference if you move the emblem?

Yes I'm a bit worried that when I remove the emblems the paint underneath would be darker. Even If I buffed it I think you would still see it. I'm not a paint expert . This is all theory mind you. Won't know till I remove them. Just looking for opinions

Looks as though the car was well taken care of after the new paint, so I'd say you'd be ok. If there were a noticeable difference in color, I'd still rather have that then have them in the wrong location. I can't figure out why people can't get emblem locations right. All that money on a nice paint job only to put the emblems back in the wrong place.

Well first this in the morning I'll tackle it. I'm with you on the emblem placement. Been driving me nuts for years. Other things kept coming up that had to come first. Thanks for the advise. I'll post before and after pics.

With a little patience and some effort I was rewarded with a great result.
