As I struggled to get my left side UMI rear suspension brace in car I kept running into interference from the emergency brake cables & brackets. As I lay there cussing I looked over at my torch set and wondered... Do I need an emergency brake?

What do you guys think? I realize it is the last line of defense if the regular brakes quit but it's not enough braking power to stop the car in under a mile anyway. :p

Sure would make the rear suspension simpler and easier to work on. Also save a little bit of weight.

Does your car still have the powermaster? Might be worth it "just in case".....

I have converted to vacuum brakes. I am going to try to get them installed again tonight. I already cut the corners off the double cable bracket that was in the way.

I took mine off - seems I should be able to engine brake if absolutely necessary OR throw it in REVERSE!! ( YIKES!! )
