I am going to have a long-block 4.1 litre v-6 shipped from Peoria, Illinois. Is there an engine stand that is made for shipping? I want to take the precautions to ensure that damage doesn't occur in shipping to Alaska. It will be on a pallet in a crate, but what to have the engine rest on is the issue.

I called Steve, but he didn't have any available and was not anticipating making any for several months, so found a Buick V6 specific engine cradle at Weber Racing and purchased it.

May I ask, How much was it including shipping?

you can make one yourself out of a flat piece of plywood for the base, some 2x6s i think 14" long x 2 and, 1 -9" long 2 x6 for under the oil pan, nail the 2x6s together with the short piece inside the ends of the others in a "U" shape and secure to the flat piece of plywood, engine will sit securely level in the cradle and then i use straps or secure it to the pallet and cover.

Do you happen to have a picture ........

......for the verbally impaired like me? LOL

Seriously that would help me. Sounds like a quick and fairly easy way to go. Thanks.

I don't there is a picture of it on their website. I previously heard about the engine cradle and called Bryan to confirm that they had had one and they did.

I think you have to make the side rails 14 1/2" long-i used this 3-4 times with no problem-learned it from RPE Bobby.
