This may be old, but Ive never seen it before.
Turn the sound way up.

Things the dyno operator might say:

Before fail:
Bring the boost up a little.
Dont worry, Ive done this thousands of times.

At fail:
OK, back the boost off a bit.
Did you hear a ping?

After:
Is that a main stud sticking out of my leg?
Mutton motor would have never done that.

That is a heartbreaker there, lucky only because fire didn't consume the cell.
Certainly can't be much left for diagnosis.

Kevin.

You have to wonder about a dyno shop that dyno's it's motors on top of cylinder blocks

I don't think I've ever heard a big-block turn that kinda crazy RPMs.:eek::eek:

Not a big block. It's a detroit 396 diesel.

I don't think that's a dyno. Looks more like an engineering test cell.

That's a screamin' Detroit two-stroker 'eh?? The construction company I used to work for had a fleet of twin engine Terex TS-24 scrapers that had V-12 Detroit's for a front engine & a 671 inline 6 Detroit in the back.

Loud, annoying, mother f^ckers they were, but man would they move alot of dirt.

Guess I'll have to look & listen again. Thanks for the correction.:)

How about cinder blocks?? 'Ya know, concrete, build things, etc.

Not cylinder blocks.

I deserve it, that's what i get for coming home from work half asleep and getting on the board, twice and i didn't catch the error of my ways, tee hee o well, i wont be losing sleep over it.

kind of looks like they were pushing it to the limits to see when and how it would break. i'm sure all the big car, truck, and industrial equipment manufacturers have videos like this of every engine available going kablooie in dramatic fashion.
tell me that it wouldn't be a fun job to blow stuff up like that on a daily basis..
and those aren't cinder blocks holding it up- those are steel legs.

Is that what happens when you try to run 25 lbs of boost on 91 w/o alky?:eek:
