About the Jagermeister show...
Okay, so, 4 am on Friday I was up and by 5 am I was on the interstate leaving my home about 45 miles east of Albuquerque. I was having a great road-trip until, in the mountains around Heber/Payson, AZ the roads were all construction areas.....you try heading down a mountain pass and only doing the posted 35! I got to Mesa, AZ at around noon and checked into the Best Western Mezona Inn (90 f-ing dollars!) and as I get out of my car, a cleaning lady yells to me, 'Joo gotta flat tire!'. Long story short, I'm later across the street at this auto place having them remove a screw from a new tire. Afterwards, I go to the amphitheatre to get in line way early so that I can be right up against the barricade. 4 HOURS IN THE 176 DEGREE HEAT BEFORE THE DOORS EVEN OPENED!! Most of the show, the crowd was chanting 'Water, water, water' more than anything........I was really surprised at what a good show Chimaira put on! DevilDriver had cancelled, so Hemlock opened and I thought they really sucked. I hate to have to admit it but (As Blwn87 had told me earlier) my fave band in the world, Fear Factory, put on kind of a dry show. I have to note that Slipknot kind of dissappointed as well because half the crap said and done was verbatim/exactly like the Disasterpieces DVD. I was surprised to see that 'Lizard Man' introduced all of the bands, that guy is nuts. Long story short.....even after hundreds of dollars, severe dehydration and the sneaking hunch that I might be starting to get a little old for this, I'm still VERY happy to have gone.
