EVO water sprayer on GN?

I'm parts mgr at a Mitsu dealer and drove a new EVO over the weekend and was impressed.It has a water sprayer for the intercooler,wondering if anyone has ever put one on a TR?Any drawbacks?Would it be worth the time?I can probaly order all the parts from Mitsu and make something work for under $150.

Do you mean this Spray's water onto the physical IC or it is plumbed in as water injection?

I'm not really sure,I got to thinking about that after I posted the topic.I need to look at the car itself,but on the parts layout it shows a tank,(looks like a washer resevoir),plastic/rubber lines,and spray nozzles and looks as if it sprays on back of the IC.

of course its been done in the "early" years ...CO2 also...NOS.... all were a waste of time BUT the CO2 an NOS looked cool when ya hit it

I'm pretty sure my car couldn't run 11.5's@118 with the stock intercooler if I hadn't sprayed it down with water in the staging lanes before the run.

Sure it works. Active spraying works better on the street than at the track (because if the track guy sees one drip, you are gone), but if you spray the intercooler, the evaporating air pulls out a lot of heat and the lower the dew point, the better it works.

Spraying the stock big neck IC with a garden sprayer filled with ice water worked pretty good for me too .

i got a can of bubble gum remover in the spray can from work, its mostly propane and some other very cold liquids, i sprayed the whole can on my ic before i made a pass and slowed down .05 i think. it was mainly due to the air, but i don't think there was any affect on the ic. by the time i did a burnout the ic was probably up to normal temp.

i think a MUCH better idea would ab an electric fan on the back of the ic. someone makes a kit for that.

alot of the sy/ty guys do that on the lower ic
