Which housing is best for a street car? I have enough convertor for one, and can find a brand new one locally. My car sees alot of street miles, but is also raced frequently. Have MSD50s and Razor's single nozzle, so that should be adequate fuel.

PTE .63 or .82?

Thanks.

Scott

The Precision .63 A/R housing on that turbo, has proven itself to be capable of high 10's on a full built combo. If shooting for mid 10's, I'd say the .85 housing with a properly matched torque converter. No such thing as a .82 Precision turbine housing in the Buick 3-bolt world. PTE is .85 A/R. A .82 would be a Garrett housing that's been cut to fit the turbine wheel.

I wasnt sure if it was the .82 or the .85, couldnt remember... I have a ProTorque 32-3400 9.5", so that should be plenty.

What kind of cam can I run with this turbo? Want a nice, simple, SOLID street setup. This car doesnt sit in the garage.

I run a .63 with my TE-61.

Just took that exact same turbo off. Could only pick up 20-21mph on the big end. Car had issues that have since been corrected, and havent been back to Cecil. I liked the 61 too.

I should have been in the 10's in the quarter, but I couldn't hook.

I did gain 25 mph in the last 1/8 mile though. :)

Damn, thats rolling. The owner of the 61 went 123mph in the quarter. Another TE-61 car went 121-122. Both had significantly more mods than my GN. I think the main problem was my coilpack. Doc Paulie figured it out for me. It dropped out under load. I fixed it, but havent gotten back to the track yet.

Im picking up my new TE-62 tonight. Hopefully with a few hours of work, I'll have a running car tonight!

Well, I got the car back together. Big thanks to my buddy Wayne for the help. Car runs good, but could use some fresh fuel and more methanol. Have a slight oil leak to attend to, but nothing major. I'll take care of that when I change the oil and put the new pads and rotors on it.

The Limit Eng. TE-62 works good. Felt good when I took it around the block. Didnt boost it too much, only 15psi or so.
